What it does

Place two layouts. Silk moves everything in between.
Put the screen and the camera where you want them, twice. Silk travels from one to the other: the camera glides, the screen resizes, and you never touch a keyframe. It is what turns a raw take into something that looks directed, and it is the one thing here you cannot get by recording more carefully.
People look where you want them to.
You clicked something. Silk already knows where to look and when, so the zooms are on the timeline before you open the editor. Switch to 9:16 and it recomposes at full resolution, without re-recording.
Big enough to follow on a phone.
Most people watch your video at a quarter of the size you recorded it. Silk never captures the system pointer. It draws its own, three times larger, at export resolution, smoothed on a spring so hand tremor disappears. It turns into a hand over links and a caret over fields, exactly where yours did.
Never re-record because it sat in the wrong corner.
Your face lives on its own track, so everything stays editable afterwards: eight positions, any shape and ratio, how tightly it crops you, and where it moves to halfway through. Hide it wherever it is in the way.

Your script floats just under the Mac's camera, so reading it looks like eye contact. Silk listens on this Mac, nothing leaves it, and scrolls at the speed you actually speak: pause and it waits, skip a line and it catches up. It never appears in the recording, and locked, clicks pass straight through it.

Silk writes out what you said using a speech model it downloads once and then keeps. Your audio is never uploaded to be read, so there is no per-minute bill and nothing to take on trust. The language is read off what you actually spoke, not off the language the app is set to.
From that text it proposes chapters. Click one to jump the playhead there. Rename any that reads badly.

Background, frame, cursor and camera save into one preset, so every next recording matches without touching anything.
